A brand-new book in the terrific Hope Street Church mystery series, by New York Times bestselling author Ellery Adams and Elizabeth Lockard.

Welcome to Hope Street Church, where friendships are formed, fresh starts are encouraged, and mysteries are solved.

Cooper Lee and her friends in the Hope Street Bible Study Group are enjoying a glorious summer day in the park, complete with picnic, hiking, swimming, and a local bluegrass band. But Cooper knows that no good day goes unpunished, and when a man turns up dead in the nearby woods—and the sister of Cooper’s fiancé is named as the prime suspect—the group may have to trade in their prayers of thanks for pleas of divine intervention.

Cooper knows her future sister-in-law is innocent, so when the police arrest her for the murder, the Bible study group must step in to catch the real killer and prevent a grave injustice. Following a twisted trail of clues that leads to a hit-and-run driver, a homeless veteran, and a park full of suspects who may hold more secrets than solutions, Cooper must hold firm to her spiritual convictions before an innocent woman faces a conviction of a more earthly nature.

Includes heavenly recipes from Magnolia Lee’s kitchen!

About the Authors

New York Times bestselling author Ellery Adams grew up on a beach near the Long Island Sound. Having spent her adult life in a series of landlocked towns, she cherishes her memories of open water, violent storms, and the smell of the sea. Ms. Adams has held many jobs, including that of caterer, retail clerk, car salesperson, teacher, tutor, and tech writer, all the while penning poems, children's books, and novels. She now writes full-time from her home in Virginia.

Elizabeth Lockard has been writing fiction since childhood, and following a writing and editing career in the communications field, she turned her full attention to her oldest love and decided to make a career of it. Her favorite authors are Elizabeth Peters and Krista Davis, but she enjoys most books with mystery and/or thriller elements. She lives in Phoenix with her husband, son, and two dogs.

Fate of the Fallen, Book #5 of the Hope Street Church Mysteries by Ellery Adams, starts out slowly for me.The Sunrise Bible Study group, including Cooper Lee and her fiancé,Nathan Dexter, become embroiled in solving another murder when Nathan's sister, Christine, is accused of offing her boss at a public festival.

Tension is provided in many arenas. Officer McNamara, of course, is not pleased to have the group messing in police business. Time is of the essence to keep Christine out of prison. Also, Nathan has big news for Cooper that has her re-evaluating the relationship.

This was a clean read, which I much appreciated,in my favorite genre. It seemed to take a while to develop any real excitement or for me to make a real connection with the book. Notice this is book 5 and I jumped in cold, so maybe that affected the speed at which I warmed to the story.

Once the action finally took off, I found the mystery fun and enjoyable. One thing I liked about the novel was the believability factor. The action and characters were all very plausible. Some stories are fun, but one doubts about whether they could really happen.

This is definitely a book and series to look into, but I suggest reading the books in order.

Fate of the Fallen Hope Street Church Mysteries Book 5 edition by Ellery Adams Elizabeth Lockard Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

I fall a little more love with these characters with each book. Anxiously awaiting the next adventure with The Hope Street Church Bible Study.
Have you ever been inside a hoarders home? This book is bogged down in details. So many that it's hard to find the storyline. I finally gave up. Hence the rating. It's rare for me to not finish a book.
I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SERIES.THE CHARACTERS ARE SO DIFFERENT, YET BLEND TOGETHER SO WELL. I WOULD RECOMMEND THESE BOOKS TO ANYONE WHO LOVES A CLEAN CHRISTIAN BOOK, BUT ENJOYS A GOOD MYSTERY THROWN IN. WE WON'T TALK ABOUT THE YUMMY RECIPES.I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT BOOK COMES OUT...
I love cozy mysteries. This series is one of my favorites, and I really enjoyed this book. It has an interesting plot. The author does a good job of story telling and developing the characters and area. I honestly never thought I'd enjoy a "church book," but this is a very good series!
I just happen to find this series, thought I'd read the 1st one and see .well then I wanted to read more! I look forward to more in this series from Ellery Adams!!!! And hopefully soon!
I love this series. The main people all get along which I think is a relaxing read. I hope that Ellery Adams keeps writing this series. I was really upset when I thought that there wasn't going to be any more so please keep them coming.
This series (Hope Street Church) is a good light mystery series. While it isn't as suspenseful and heart pounding as some of the more dark thrillers, it is full of characters that you can't help but like and wish they were in your group of friends.
I enjoy the fact that I can read this and it keeps my attention but doesn't have all of the intense language and gratuitous sexual situations that many mysteries seem to think are important.
I would liken it to the Murder She Wrote TV series. Likable small town normal folks who get caught up in situations. Of course, as with Cabbot Cove in Murder, She Wrote, if the place was real, the murder rate would be crazy high per capita. LOL
I started the Hope Street Church series after reading and enjoying her Supper Club Mysteries. All in all, a good read about good down to earth people.
