Martin Luther 95 Theses Martin Luther Stephen J Nichols 9780875525570 Books

On the last day of October in 1517, a 33-year old highly enraged Augustinian monk named Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany, objecting to the sale of indulgences by the Roman Catholic Church. Exactly what were those 95 theses? This book by Stephen J. Nichols explains with introduction and commentary. It is only 48 pages and is very easy to read. Highly recommended for people with curious mind.

Side note - the original church door is no longer there. It was replaced by a bronze door in 1857 with all 95 Theses embossed on it. My husband and I stood in front of it in awe last month. The entire church was covered in white tarps in preparation for Martin Luther’s 500-yr anniversary in 2017. The town of Wittenberg is very pretty. You can follow Martin Luther’s footsteps from the church to the house where he lived with his wife Katharina von Bora and their children.

KINDLE VERSION IS NOT THE SAME AS PAPERBACK BOOK
Thanks, great book.
It's a short read but worth it. Very informative and it's a little history.
Simply a statement of the thesis. No commentary or other material. The description seems inaccurate.
Warning version only has the 95 Theses, no commentary.
I received what I expected to get. The book had only the 95 theses. The theses were very interesting and far different than what history class informs you about how Protestantism came about. Books are an individuals perception of what they understood very difficult to review books.
Just received this booklet..blank areas within the pages with many of the theses missing. Blank space for 10-11, blank spaces for 13-20, blank spaces for 22-25 and many more blanks. However, the associated explanations are in the book. Do not order this booklet.
